The Transpack looks like a great gear bag; I dig the separate boot holder pouch design. I know a number of folks on here swear by them......however, I'm looking for something a bit more duel purpose. A bag with the similar set up of a Transpack....but, also has tie downs for carrying skis on it for BC.

Does such a pack exist? I'd rather not purchase two bags to satisfy my desire for both of these features if a one does it all pack exists.

Pretty close to ideal. My only wish would be that the side boot holders were internal as opposed to external to keep them out of the elements. I really haven't done much slack country in years and my experience is limited to hiking the chin at Stowe for the most part during which I'd be wearing my boots anyways.

Definitely a good option.

I dont wear mine for hiking. Only getting to and from the lodge. I like it more than a Trans. because I just leave my boots attached, dont need to remove them to dry them.

Oooh, I like. How's the storage compared to a transpack?

Dont own a transpack so never tried to fill one(there are also many models of transpacks....)

I can fit my pants, 2 pairs of gloves, 2 pairs of goggles, knee brace, rolled up pants, and usully my helmet inside it.

Just get a plastic bag like you get in the supermarket. Put it over the boots and secure with a rubber band. It may look ghetto but that'll keep the rain/snow out of your boots. If you use the pack to hike, the plastic bags can also wrap up your hiking boots for the same purpose on the way down.

I was going to suggest a rain fly but this suggestion seems much simpler.

Doesn't say anything about being able to carry skis. Looks nice, though.

Err yea, I wasn't thinking about carrying skis with it. I'm looking for a boot bag, but hate the look of transpacks. Plus everyone has one.

Do the boots go on the outside of those? I pulled the trigger in the ebay pack anyway. The price was right and they're a local company.
