Route 100 rocks. Just need to pass a few slower cars at opportune times and you're on your way. So many of Vermont's ski areas are within just a few miles of that road. Lots of history as well. Plus I rented a house on it for years!

One of my most favorite rides I ever took was from Stowe to Jacksonville on 100.

....hmmm, why I have I not heard of Jacksonville? Southern part of the state?

Big fan of route 100 here. It's my favorite road anywhere.

Yeah....It's where you would pick up 112 and then some other roads to head into Greenfield Mass. Staying on 100 at that point would take me out of the way.

haven't done 100 in that part of the state, but have from Stratton area all the way to Canada (not in one shot)

if it weren't for Rutland, route 7 is also an enjoyable ride. Done that in one shot from Mass border to Burlington when I wasn't in a particular rush.

You're catching 112 pretty close to Stratton. About 45 minutes from there, IIRC.

A few years I decided to take that route back to the MRV although I started in Readsboro coming from Clifton Park NY. It took about twice as long not counting the time I got alittle off track north of Londonderry but it was a fun drive.

100 is nice as long as you dont ahve to go too far in one shot. I went from Londonderry up to Sugarbush duing president's week. That was a nice ride. The 3+ hour ride back in the snowstorm sucked. My favorite road in VT is the Lincoln Gap Rd just south of Warren. I used to take that from Rt22 on my way to the MRV

Route 100 is not a skier's highway... it is Vermont's only official billboard. You don't ski Route 100. You use Route 100 to get to your ski area of choice once you have traversed east/west from the actual highway you used to get up there. I would imagine very few people drive Route 100 in a single trip past more than three different areas in one day. But I think Route 100 is over romanticized. Then again, having lived there, I think Vermont in general is over romanticized. Nice photo montage, though.

I routinely drive past Okemo, Bear Creek (old Round Top), Killington and Pico driving from the Ludlow, VT area on my way to Sugarbush on Rt 100. I'll grant you that Pico is a stretch as 100 doesn't go right by. Middlebury Snow Bowl is pretty close too.

I've done some extended jaunts on 100 when we weren't in any particular hurry. Nice road, it's fun seeing all the ski areas off of it. I've also done several trips taking rt. 7 all the way from CT into VT, often turning off at rt. 11 to do a tour of southern VT's ski areas. Sometimes taking the scenic route nice.

I thought the NY State Thruway and Adirondack Northway Interstate Roadways were Vermont's Skiers Highways.

Vermont's Route 100 is a side street. Now here is a skiers highway.

Took 100 a few weeks ago from Waterbury to Pico. What a gorgeous drive. I have done it during the summer when there are some beautiful waterfalls but nothing like the winter.

I don't find the speed limit to be much of an issue. Didn't get stuck behind too many "sunday drivers" so it was pretty negotiable.
