Celebrity Liquor

As I was driving to the mall today for a free movie with the kids, I saw a delivery truck go by with an interesting design. The lettering read "Dan Akroyd's Crystal Skull Vodka" and there was a photo of the crystal skull bottle itself. Never knew he was in the liquor world but apparently he has some popular vineyards as well.

Anybody ever try this stuff? Or any other celebrity liquor that's good? Sammy Hagar's Cabo Wabo Tequila is on my list but it's out of my cheap liquor price range right now (though I do have a shooter of it in the fridge that I haven't gotten around to yet)....

Fess Parker and Greg Norman are other the ones I see most often. There used to be a Smothers Brothers wine. Ernie Els owns a vineyard and put his name on the bottle.

There are a ton of other celebrities who own vineyards but don't put their name on the vineyard.

I can't think of any liquors. Owning a winery has a lot more of "the good life" cachet so it's not surprising that people with huge piles of money buy vineyards.

According to the lady who runs my liquor store many people are bying it to make a something like a lamp of candle holder with those things. Cool bottle.

Never had limoncello before, though it has intrigued me. I should probably pick some of that up before the summer is over... And Danny DeVito's is made with organically-grown lemons and is all-natural!

If you like this, you should try Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka with lemonade. Makes a great Arnold Palmer, been drinking them all summer after trying them in Hilton head in May. I've also combined Firefly, lemoncello and lemonade for a little added kick.


Anybody remember a few years back when Danny DeVito made an a$$ of himself on late night (I think Letterman) from too much of his lemoncello? Funny, but made me cringe for him.
