stayed for most of it, but heard it went pretty late. good turnout (mostly old timers). some funny stories and Pres was one of the better speakers. most of the pictures were from the book, but some other good ones too. some old posters and trail maps were put on display. all in all and nice time and got me thinking snow.

pres stole the night pretty much.

a few memorable "quotes" (as I remember them) from pres who was really awesome to see and hear. by my calculation he must be 76 or 77. he looks younger than nyberg. could easy pass for 50. probably has to get out his id to get the senior discount.

"when i was here, if we had snow WE WERE OPEN"

"bears love manmade snow, so we should have developed parker's gore for skiing"

"the state hired a 'professional' to testify as an expert witness that 'bears dont cross roads'..."

"i thought it would be a good idea to use all this snowmaking capacity for MARKETING purposes so i told the guys to bury the snowshed (?? couldn't actually hear which lodge he said) lodge in a mountain of manmade snow"

i think it's pretty clear what he thinks they should do with killington...

If it is what I think he was referring to, it was Snowshed. Take a look at the pics in Lorentz's book--the picture with a sign saying, "Oops, we made a mistake and buried the lodge," or something to that effect.
