my daughter may have a race at K on Saturday (off Bunny Buster/poma) the weather is supposed to be really nice, i was thinking about getting there early and setting up a grill for kids/parents we know to ski down, grab a burger or dog inbetween races as there isnt enough time to get back to the lodge, and back up to the start in time.....my wife will be with my daughter on the hill so i figured i'd man the grill/cooler (being St Paddy's and all)

thoughts?

Not sure about the Snowdon lot, but the K1 lot has horrible drainage, park on the high ground so you're not cooking your burgers underwater.

You are probably unsure about the Snowdon lot because it is the same as the K1 lot. Maybe you thought he said Snowshed?

You're right. I get the two mixed up. Snowdon is the quad skiers left of the K1 lodge, right? Same parking lot, but I think it's higher over toward that lift.

where its snowing
in strict tailgate situations, its always safe to have solo cups and be discreet -- I'm not sure K's policy, but if you are looking to guarantee your good times, thats my 2c :)

Yes, Snowdon is to skier's left of the K1 lodge. Drainage I do not know about.

Best spot this time of year is Bay 1 which is the paid parking lot. The KZoners regularly set up there, in the middle where the snow goes down to the lot. You can set up anywhere along the edge where the trail that goes down to the Snowdon Quad is, those are prime spots. If you set up Sunday, be sure to swing by and say hello to the Zoners, I'll most likely be hanging out there (can't miss the tall dude in black)

edit - I see you'll be there Saturday, so I won't be there, I'll be at Ski Sundown. The rest of the Zoners will though.
