Might come under "How does a bunch of East Europeans assemble a chairlift and get it working..."
One guy to steal a chair and do the welding(onto a supple cable...attached to a couple pulleys) and five others to push it up the mountain and then pull it down the mountain(or something like that)....y/n?

as long as it doesnt' have a conveyor

I think you're safe Nick, conveyor technology probably won't hit the Czech Republic for a good ten years at least. Wonder if they even have detachables yet. What would one do with a stolen lift? Part it out? How could you set it up anywhere and not have it discovered eventually. Maybe it'll turn up on Pawn Stars, Chumlee would buy it.

That's nothing, they're real good in the Czech Republic, here's a story of a stolen 10 ton bridge: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/30/bridge-stolen-in-czech-republic-slavkov_n_1465806.html

That's nucking futs. It seems like there would be easier ways to make money illicitly than swiping a bridge for scrap.

On the plus side:
Obviously, law enforcement officials in the Czech Republic are keeping their eyes out for any suspicious-looking bridges.

Best comments when I posted it on my FB page...one quote is from someone that posts on AZ:

"Ski area should provide a rack where you you can lock your ski lifts with a special key that you buy for 20$ at the area's ski shop. That would be safer I think. Imagine if your in a lift and the lift gets stolen; you don't know where you'll end up! Even worse, your waiting in line and the lift get stolen and noboby tell you, you just ruin your powder day waiting in line."

"I have a cheaper way: just split up your ski lifts in different racks. A ski lift thief won't be going around looking for the second pair. Piece of cake."

Considering the lift in question is only worth about $10,000.00 either of these scenarios is quite likely.

Did it ever get stolen?

Sorry, I tried to make a bad joke about how the South Ridge Triple liftlines are separated from each other because it is in the shape of a triangle, so it "wouldn't get stolen" Sorry, bad joke on my part. I gotta do better next time. :)

I knew the SRT very well...I guess people sarcasm meter is off.

Don't worry Greg, I love your reply...well, I believe that SRT has been removed, word has it that it was 'maybe' stolen.
