Rumor the STE forum below. Anyone hear anything else?

That's good to hear. Its just that while everyone is releasing trailers and teasers Meatheads seemed to go into stasis. I got a little worried.
So is there truth in the rumor that there will be no feature length video in 2013? or should I sit tight and wait to see what the new site is about?

Um. Both. Business models evolve to survive... The NS chatter of a year ago is not entirely wrong, nor entirely right. Clear as mud for ya. Stay tuned, but don't expect big announcements till new site.

Kind of ironic that the year they (supposedly) decide not to film is a great ski season as opposed to 2011-2012.

There was filming. There will be new content.

Will there be a DVD and a movie tour? Um. Not so much. The evolution from Meathead Films to Ski The East has been going on for a few years. The MHF honchos aren't kids anymore. They have mortgages and stuff. Being a road warrior all winter to maybe break even on a film is not a business model that one can grow on for a regional market. Be glad we had 10 years and props to the gents for pulling that off. Do expect lots of exclusive content, MHF webisodes, etc throughout the fall and winter with that prized Meathead touch, via skitheeast.net of course.

We're re-launching that site and putting greater focus on our growing retail business (pick it up at dozens of retail outlets and online), STE freeride tour etc..

If this is the end of the Meatheads films then I am sad. I always loved the fact that they skied in places that I could easily access. Warren Miller, MSP, TGR and the others come up with great films but they tended to be all out west. I had a better chance of hitting the Stowe backcountry than skiing Bella Coola.

This is true and a good point. But with you leaving....they MHF really has no one left to chronicle.

Several years ago, in a WM film there was a part shot at Hunter. It was a groomer part, dont really remember it. But they said it was some place out west, not giving credit to the mtn.

I didnt really watch the Meatheads films(I do have several STE clothes items though), but liked them much more than the people who have the chance to ride a chopper up into the mtns and ski untouched peaks. Not really realistic that a normal person could ever do that.

Meathead is a business, keep it off this website....this is a Public website, build their own...just my $.01.

So we can't talk about ski areas (business), gear (business), movies (business), or anything else that is a business? Guess we need to limit our posts to trip reports of our lunch time walks? Sounds interesting.

I think they did Hunter in the 80s with beginners falling off hill from the chair.

There's no MHF lineage? ;)
