So I don’t understand how to read weather maps….lows, highs, arrows, blue, red, fronts, squigley lines, all of it.

Can someone tell me when it honestly looks like So New England will enter into a sustained period of seasonally normal temperatures?

I’m golfing in shorts for second day in a row…

I’ve given up on winters with precipitation but when will the cold come and stay?

Thanks in advance.

On average the models are indicating above normal temps for next 2 weeks. However, the warmer temps shouldn’t be as extreme, and the average temp is dropping. The models do forecast several cold periods that get temps below normal and into snowmaking temps for most in northern New England. Devil is in the details. Certainly no major pattern change next 2 weeks but hopefully things do change as we get toward end of month.

Thank you. Would be nice to get some turns in on Thanksgiving day in VT….

It’s starting to feel a whole lot like ski and boarding season. The FIS Alpine World Cup has already began, SNOW STORMS are becoming more and more frequent, several Colorado resorts have already opened and more are coming, and other areas across North America are beginning to spin their lifts.

Snowbird had some nice coverage on it the other day..but much more is needed.

Actually New Mexico and the San Juans in CO have been the biggest winners.

Thought I saw the Saturday before Thanksgiving was the plan at SB.
Yes I saw SB post Sat 11/23. However unless they have enough snow down by tomorrow (Friday) morning to open, the only way they open on 23rd is if the next cold wave comes early. Unlikely, but possible.

Can someone explain to me how Belleayre, which is as far south as the MA/CT border, can open two top to bottom runs but no one else can come close to offering that in VT NH or ME? Was it that much colder in the Catskills this week?

Crack snowmaking crew.

Always enjoy the hate directed to NYS/ORDA ski areas. Especially funny coming from someone living in Utah.
