They're at, what, 1000 GPM or just over across both pumps? The 300 loop where that's headed literally only feeds Showoff and a tiny bit of Wand right now and you can get 600 GPM through 6" pipe. If they have anything in the terrain park or a fan on the Black Quad corner hydrant it'll be even lower GPM. Shouldn't be an issue.

If I was laying out that system I'd at least think about an interconnect at the top of Showoff, so you could feed down Showoff from either the 300 or 400 line or bypass the lower mountain 400 loop to feed Lower Carpet off the 300 pump. But that's nowhere near essential, especially if they have the 400 loop reconnected at the summit to bypass a lower mountain leak on either side. Just getting the 300 loop weak spots replaced is a big win, it's been a part of the early season drama more than once.

1200 gpm comes to mind…..

300 line goes up Hocus Pocus, crossing over the work road/Wand up into the lower section of Blackline. Then where the old mid station was - below cliffy steep section and where crossover from HOM is - it turns and runs down what current trail map implies is the continuation of Bail Out, crossing Wand, and entering Show Off 50 or so yards downhill of the top of Show Off, then down Show Off and into base area. Besides replacing a perennial leaky section of pipe, the plan includes adding pipe to the top section of Show Off.

They are also doing some pipe replacement around base area and though I heard rumors of some plans I’ll wait to see what they do once work starts after the mid-August wedding.

Hiked up yesterday and they have weed-wacked Whiteout, Betwix and Enchanted Forest. Also some trimming back of encroaching trees, which I also noticed on Carumba.

Base area looks great and they had a great band on a beautiful night last night.

Only 3 months until Andrew and team can go if temps permit!

Per Alpine Update, Dostal’s is under new ownership. Geoff sounds pretty optimistic about how it’ll turn out. I’d be shocked if it isn’t a tear down, black mold, asbestos, etc. Now, what takes its place?

I had heard a while ago that the mountain bought it, the partnership with others is new to me. The mountain had a first right of refusal on the property. Short term plan is more parking, longer term plan I haven’t really heard much on. It’s absolutely a tear down and not a cheap one given the issues you noted.

Highly confident Magic Ltd did not buy it. Whether one of the investors used the ROFR and bought it is a possibility. Doesn’t matter, just needs to be dealt with. A parking lot would be an improvement. As of yesterday they had areas roped off and a ton of Casella Waste system’s equipment on site. But no evidence of the building being torn down.

Would love to know if there’s any cool stuff/memorabilia in that bar, assuming that part of the building isn’t roached. Happening spot back in the day.

If I bought that property, I’d want to know about what business is like at Upper Pass, Blue Gentian, Snowdon, etc. If those places are mostly sold out peak season, then building another hotel/motel would maybe make financial sense and certainly help bring back the “village” from the old days. Whether it’s that or a parking lot, both beat the current raccoon den.

Upper pass is usually pretty busy and blue gentian usually seems to have a good crowd. That said, any new construction would be far nicer than blue gentian or Snowden. Magic doesn’t need five star luxury, but something a bit nicer and more modern would be nice. I bet they could do alright on the weekends. However, until the mountain is open midweek I’m not sure building anything makes sense.
