This Patagonia ski jacket I’m looking at (Snowdrifter) has a pass pocket located on the bicep. Seems a bit high. Anyone have a jacket with a pocket in that spot?

Yep. Very happy. Their newer stuff is better than the last few seasons. You can get stuff at a Columbia Outlet for good prices.
I didn't realize Mountain Hardware was owned by Columbia. I've been using Columbia jackets for skiing for years. Haven't necessarily had a problem with them, but just thought I would explore something new/different for a change.
So about two years ago Columbia hired a new CEO for Mountain Hardware and gave them the resources to improve the brand. They've redesigned a lot of things, cut back on dealers and surplus, refocused on innovation, and really tried to promote how it is more of a premium brand. It is paying off. In my experience their stuff has always been pretty good, but those in the industry have taken notice the last year or so as to how they have stepped up.
I have a really nice Gore Tex jacket that I got at the Outlet a couple years ago. It is really well made and looks great. I also have insulated ski pants and an insulated ski jacket.
Definitely high on my list of what looks interesting to me so far...

I always found mountain hardware to run a little small. Admittedly, I haven't purchased a garment from them in a long time. I did just retire a rain jacket I had from them that I had for longer than I can remember.
Columbia gets a lot of crap, but the higher end stuff they make is not junk. is it Arcteryx? no. But it isn't walmart brand junk either. Its good to know they own mountain hardware and are committed to making/keeping it a higher end option.

Columbia makes a lot of stuff. Maybe too much.
But they certainly innovate and design a lot of cool things.
Love MH A NH based Co that SR used for all our Patrol lightweight GoreTex shells many years ago.
I still have mine and at 30 years old it still functions exactly as it was supposed to

I have a black, insulated gortex Elevenate jacket (Swedish brand) I bought new for $200 at a sidewalk sale in Aspen in 2021. It has a bicep pocket. It's really handy, but I use that pocket for chapstick/asprin/sunblock, stuff I want to get at several times per day. I keep my season pass in a pants pocket and never mess with it. Sometimes I have trouble getting my pass to read at the RFID gates at Snowbird, so perhaps if I kept it up by my bicep I'd have less trouble??

i am really pleased with my norrona jacket. a bit pricey but really feature rich, and they did a substantial free repair over the summer for me. jacket is good as new. i had a tear on the shoulder from a tree ski incident - patched beautifully. i had a kinked zipper - fully replaced. the velcro cuffs were just a little worse for wear - replaced. joint cherry incident burn on inner collar - patched.
I had Patagonia do a similar repair for me for free.
