On a warm sunny day this trail really shines.

Sure, but those are pretty rare. I just don't typically dig, super wide, straight, groomed trails. Especially ones like Profile that get wind blasted. I think it's cool that the new GM is open to mixing things up, but I'd rather see Taft, Ravine or Skylight vs Profile.

Oh completely agree. What they did there was not a good decision. I honestly miss the tbars. Im taking a cannon break this year aside from my 2 indy days

I miss the T Bars too. They should consider putting a line of trees between Profile and the Quad. It would both help with wind holds on the chair and also make for a better trail.

That's one of many trails in New England that could use some regrowth areas.

So has Cannon ever used just the Upper pod for early or late season skiing before? Seems a bit ironic if they have concentrated on the upper pod this year, when they could have done that before easily accessed by the (wait for it) Tram.

I remember the T bars as well. And (DHS, because we talked about it before) I have an old map that shows some sort of lift over to the left of Peabody from the triple (was a double back then) to the area near the top of Peabody. (may have to zoom in on it sorry). Also note the Banshee T Bar near the bottom of the tram. (skied those trails never rode the T-Bar) IMG_5486.jpeg

Shows up better then I thought

That was the Middle T-bar. You can still see its cut, just barely, where Spookie crosses it just after it splits from Middle Ravine. Until recently the upper terminal was still there, behind some trees at the start of Goat Path. (The Lower T-bar was replaced by the Hong Kong chair in the early 70s, which went up what is now Parkway and you can see the foundation of its top terminal from Peabody just before it crosses the exit of Spookie.)

Guns were off this afternoon. Profile is the question, whales do not look big enough to push out. Tramway and upper cannon are done.l

Opening day better than expected. Much better surface than loon the day prior.

Vista and bypass joined upper cannon and tramway up top. Profile almost done, they were starting on middle ravine.

Took a bunch of pictures but new phone not compatible with AZ for some reason.

Thank you. I plan to ski Cannon tomorrow. Only place I can ski without buying a day ticket. I just need to do one run to say I skied in November. And doing non ski trip for Thanksgiving so it has to be this weekend!

We went. And while some would say why waste an Indy Pass day on so few runs, my take is, who knows what will happen next year? The bigger waste is not using your days at all……Was actually the least icy, least windy and least cold conditions I’ve had at Cannon. Husband and Pup hiked and met us at the top. He was hoping for coffee and a bowl of chilli at the summit cafe which was unfortunately shut. But we all had a great day.
