    Stratton - 12/21 and 12/24

We came up for annual X-Mas trip to Manchester/Stratton. This is our 6th year in a row coming up during this week so we prepare for any conditions thrown at us. We have had years where we were skiing on barely 1/3 of the mountain with only a couple top-to-bottom runs and have had years where...

    Bushwacker vs Watea 84/88

I am looking at getting new skis and am down to these two. Ski primarily VT and PA (Elk mostly). Coming out of Fischer AMC79s and want something softer, quicker turning and lighter as I'm spending a lot more time these days following my 11 year old into the trees and bumps. After skiing 4...

Family headed up to the Mad River Valley for our final ski trip of the season. Skied MRG on Friday and Sugarbush Saturday. MRG (3/25) - Great day at MRG. Only our second time there and is now one of our favorite mountains though we really don't know our way around the mountain that well...

    New Website Bash - Stowe

I get Stowe's daily snow reports via e-mail. The e-mail snow report from 7 am this morning claims 47 trails (which would be 100% open) and 5 lifts. When you go to their snow report on their website, they have 28 trails and 6 lifts and a claim that they "expect to have somewhere around 2/3 of...

    Mt. Snow or Stratton?

I know there aren't a lot of fans of Stratton here but their website says they are opening today with 17 trails with up to 20 this weekend. After spending Thanksgiving in Connecticut, I've convinced the family to take a long detour to Vermont to ski before heading back to Philly. We are going...
