    what to eat

I can't believe no one mentioned MREs in this list! No brainer these days, just open and eat! I read through this thread quickly, so if someone did mention them, sorry!

Lowe Alpine leaving CO for NH

I don't know about anyone else, but I think this rocks. It's nice to see more NH based companies growing, especially when it's one of the top equipment makers in the world. I might have to move to Lebanon!

8/21/2004 - Hiking the Presidential Traverse

Oh that just plain old sucks! Have some optimism, I sprained my MCL three weeks ago and two weeks ago I hiked Galehead and Garfield. Sometimes your body heals faster than you think it will!

    What would you choose?

Not even a consideration. The Whites. One trip (albeit an amazing one) vs. a lifetime of trips? I'll be surprised if anyone chooses the Everest option!

Never get a pop under ad. I think the folks above have covered this pretty well. I use AdWare, just to chime in.

    2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Maybe my lead foot had something to do with it, but I'll never admit it!!

    2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Go for the 2004. No matter what, you'll get a better deal buying a 2004 that's on the lot of your dealer. Look around, find one you like, go to Edmunds or whomever and get the invoice price, then go to the dealer with the one you like and strike a deal for Invoice or slightly higher than...

    Bug Dope Recommendations

Please accept my most humble apologies, a 10 second search revealed that the EPA thinks DEET is pretty cool, assuming it's used as directed: http://www.epa.gov/pesticides/factsheets/chemicals/deet.htm WedMD also thinks it's pretty nifty...

    New England Waterfalls

Congrats! My wife tried her best to ruin my plans for engagement (I had to retool my entire plan), so for it to work out for you is excellent. Now, if you need help with what your responsibilites are during the planning of the wedding... :) (hint: just nod and say, "that sounds great honey!")

I like Ben's 100 but try not to use it too much b/c it's been pretty well proven that DEET causes cancer. Some of the OFF! products work pretty well too. I've never bought into the Skin So Soft hype, it doesn't seem to work for me.

    Coke or Pepsi?

Wow, 78 lbs is awesome. I'd have to lop off an appendage to lose that much! Congrats on getting 78 lbs healthier!

    Coke or Pepsi?

LOL that's too funny that this deserved its own thread! I know Pepsi will lose out in the end (even though it's BETTER), Coke owns the market...

    Coke or Pepsi?

Actually, I now drink Diet Mountain Dew (another Pepsi product). Too many calories in reg soda. I've lost 21 lbs in 2 months. Now I can hike faster, right??!! :D

    Toe Surgery

Funny, I went to him a couple years ago as well. He was great, but his office needs a drag out of the 70s! Not mentioning the reason I went to him...
