usually in the northeast el ninos spell at bad news for winter as warmer air and more precipitation is pulled into the eastern side of the us by ocean currents. lets hope were in for another epic winter.

I agree with his premise that past history does not guarantee future results. My only exception to his point is that he is considering Mt. Mansfield, and the Accuweather long-range winter forecast predicts a cold and snowy winter in the Mid-Atlantic. Their snazzy map has the cut off right around Mass.

So it's entirely possible for both parties to be correct, that is a snowier than normal winter in PA/NJ/CT, and an average winter in northern New England.

El Nino will bring the moisture in. What form that's in may depend upon it's strength.
