Hey All,

I'm back from a fun morning session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I left my apartment at 7:10AM and I arrived at the lower lot at 7:32AM..it was cloudy with temperatures in the mid to upper 20s. Atomic Jeff was already there and a few minutes later, Kragan arrived. Rodney and some of the MILFs were also in the house along with Skier112. We first skied Razors edge which had a few pockets of fresh manmade mixed in with some fresh cord..then we skied Dreamweaver which was similar. Switchback was really nice early on and we skied that a few times. Crowds were pretty light for the Saturday of Presidents weekend and there were no real liftlines..maybe a 10 chair wait max for the 6-pack. We were able to do a few speed runs on Paradise without being bothered by the patrollers.

Around 10AM..we were skiing some Dreamweaver..where Dreamweaver merges with Paradise, we passed two ski patrollers..then just as we were about to get into the corral the ski patrollers yelled for us to get out of the line. A-Jeff said, "You can ride the lift with us"..and the patrollers again said to get out of the line and they got Kragan as well. I tryed to reason with the patroller and even introduced myself and shook his hand. The patrollers ended up writing the three of us up..I spelled my name wrong and gave a fake address...something Gay lane in Philadelphia..I was going to say Gay Idaho but why would someone from Idaho have a season pass at Blue. I said that I needed to carry my speed to make it to the base. As we were getting written up, Toast and some of the Jibhonks saw us along with Matt Reynard and I told some people to watch out for the Redcoats. Atomic Jeff snapped some nice pictures which I'm sure he'll post up soon. So now we're in the database again..the next time I get stopped, I'm just going right to the parking lot, otherwise, I'll probably lose my pass for a few days.

Back to the skiing, after our run-in with two of Blue mountains finest, we skied a few more runs. The snow wasn't smooth anymore...it was mad sweet and low..and lower Main Street was especially rough. After 3 hours and 18 runs, we called it a day. Me, A-Jeff, Kragan and Toast went to the Blue mountain drive inn for a late breakfast..all in all, it was a really fun session and the patrollers who stopped us this time were really friendly..unlike Johann Buckley..I'll be back up there tomorrow morning..anybody else???

Anyway you slice it or dice it, it was just another day in Paradise..

I've never heard of tickets and a database for being stopped by a patroller. Is this only at Blue?

Camelback has ski patrollers who wear redcoats and deal with first aid and they also have Rangers who wear Yellow jackets...Blue really needs unmarked patrollers who hide out in the woods like State Troopers...that way regulars who spend $4-500+ on a season pass can really feel like criminals..while the Turkey tuckers in a powerwedge with their poles high in the air picnicing in the landings of the jumps get carte blanche..The only person I ever crashed into at Blue was Ski9 but he was taking pictures and said to carve really close and a snowsnake bit me..I ski in control..and todays snow was on the slow sticky side so I wasn't even going more than like 25mph on the runout where I got nailed..a bunch of BS..and I was skiing Dreamweaver..not Paradise..anyway do you guys notice the ski patroller isn't wearing a helmet...that's setting a really bad example..ski patrollers should promote safety..fast skiing is not unsafe if it's a skilled skier.

Now you guys know why TruTV chose Blue mountain for their show..

That is just stupid that they have patrollers out there writing tickets, it is one thing for them to ask you to slow down, but to have them out there skiing and carrying ticket books is ridiculous and comical at the same time. Do they have a court system there and you can plead not guilty:lol: Post up a copy of the ticket so we can get a good laugh and remember to always signal before you start carving.

I'd post a picture of my ticket...but I threw it in the trash can about 3 seconds after he handed me the pink copy.

If he would've run a "database" check and found that we were already in the database (which we are) he said we would've been gone for a few days. So the next time I'm being pursued, or even if I'm not and I'm standing in line for the lift, I'm going to tell them "We can do this the easy way, or the hard way". The easy way is we just walk out...the hard way is that GSS and I come down on them like a hammer from hell :) Ski patrollers bring out the best/worst in me. I can be the nicest guy in the world, but on the other hand, I can be the biggest d1ck you've ever met.

I totally respect the NSP and what they do. When I fractured my femur last winter, I couldn't have been more appreciative. Their job is first aid, not enforcing traffic.

"Press hard...4 copies"

GSS You're the bad-ass Terror of Blue. Do they have an APB out to hassle you? Someone's mother must have complained.
Me thinks that one patroller should be docked for not wearing a helmet. Sets a bad example don't you think? But that would have been pushing it. Did they take your pic and fingerprint you too?
I wondered why you were posting so early.

The first pic looks like you're signing an autograph for the patroller. Could you just stick your pass in your pocket and walk away?

I fought the law and the law won!!!!...but AtomicSkier..next time you snap a picture of me with one of Blue mountains finest, give me some sort of signal so I can smile and maybe some sort of gangstah sign..West-Side..yup the west side of Blue aside from Burma road is where I'll be..Paradise and Dreamweaver are off limits. The next time I get stopped, they're going to take my pass away for a few days.,,I'm among the Blue mountain ski patrols most wanted and there is surely a bounty of some Corona light or Zima for the patroller who busts GrilledSteezeSandwich who resides on gay street in Philadelphia and signs more autographs than TO..but really I just like to ski..as John Stocil of 60 minutes would say..give me a break!!!

If at least two people want to hear it...I have a rap song I wrote with references to overzealous ski patrollers..

OK on the radio lately an Akon song featuring Lil Wayne..I'm So Paid by Akon featuring Lil Wayne has been getting alot of radio play..and it seems to be on everytime I drive to Blue mountain the true mountain. As many of you know, I like to kick a little freestyle rap and so I went all weird Al Yankovic and I'm about to drop a GSS hit..here goes..

Sitting at my computer in my Sweatpants..OK Phillycore kick a Beatbox..what what

I drive to Blue when the sun rise
going 57 in a 55
past the Sheetz on my rightside
listening to a Quest called Tribe

Number one vert whore getting feet
tops in stats I'm really neat
Ski boots are my cleats
Parking lot pimping at Sheetz

I see the redcoats round the corner ain't no jive
Cruising down Paradise going about 25
Patroller dressed like an extra from Stayin Alive
Disco Stu and Mark miller in pursuit
But the Boot is where I spend all my loot
For a pass constantly harrassed
But I shake their hand cause I have class
Got a ticket that looks like a hall pass
But I'm not in 8th grade not gonna get laid
on Valentines day kicking it like Pele

I post trip reports in the fall
Drive a Suburu to Jackson hole in the fog
not a frog like Kermit eat Miss Piggy on a roll
I think I heard a whistle oh no Ski Patrol..

I'm Out..

Fast, yes. Out of control, no.

I'm up at Windham for the weekend. Wanderer is a trail very similar to Paradise in slope and width, it's just longer. No speed patrol on there and there's no problem. I had some great high speed runs down it today.

I'm sure Camelsack was a shitshow today..total Herb invasion today at Blue..but me and AtomicSkier made friends with a veteran patroller today who was fun to ski with and cut the lines with. Respect gets Respect....from the terrain park to the liftline to the parking lot to the airport to the grocery store...People need to use Smartstyle..Look before you leap, and check yourself before you wreck yourself...it's important..I always abide by the Skiers Responsibility code and Smartstyle in the park..yes Smartstyle is a chain of beauty salons but it is also the Terrain Park constitution..it's important..

+1 Dude,that's tee shirt worthy!

I guess I'm spoiled. When I have to wait in a line there's to many people period. I don't like to have to retrict my speed. We only have 800 feet so to get any kinda cardio going you gotta' clock runs in without interuption.I'm not there for the social scene,I'm there to get verticle in. Don't get me wrong if it's an epic bump day and the women get half naked......I'm there till the sun goes down.

Glad I don't ski down in PA, especially at Blue! This all sounds a-bit over the top as far as the the whole database/ticket writing thing goes. I'm certain I wouldn't be able to hold onto a pass for very long.

GSS, maybe you can sooth things over a bit with the "red coats" with a deliberate donation of beer or other libations to the patrols kitty, it can go along way to find common ground!
