Anyone watching it?

I'm watching my Audi's in first place in P1 and my Corvette in first place in GT1.

It's on Speed Channel right now...

Audi wins! Woot.

So does Corvette in GT1.

Audi takes 1st and 3rd over all. The 64 Corvette takes 1st in GT1 and 4th overall.

Great race! Apparently I was the only one watching...

I would have watched at least part of it if I happened upon it, but I don't have Speed anymore so that was unlikely.

I read somewhere that Audi is developing a deisel car to race in Le Mans. I guess they want to be the first to win it with deisel power. That would be interesting.

Well, you were staying current until last weekend, bvibert. Audi won with the diesel powered R10.

That was actually the second race the competed (and won) in with the R10. The first was the 12 hours of Sebring on the American Lemans series.

Now Peugot says they will be in the ring next year with a diesel powered P1 car. That will make things very interesting.

It was very cool to watch the diesel cars race... they would be staying out 14-15 laps on a full load of fuel while their closest competiton in P1, Escarola, never got more than 13.

I guess the article I read was old or something (barber shop mag) because I thought they were still a year or two away from debuting the deisel. I'm glad to hear they were able to win with it, but I can't say I'm surprised. The article also said how pissed that Peugot was when they heard Audi was going to beat them in introducing the deisel powered car by a year.
