What I'd be curious to find out is how many annual barrels those "macro" breweries have actually lost when you factor in the number of new pseudo "micro" brews they've introduced over the same time in the form of either acquisiton of an existing micro or creation of a micro with a different sounding brewery name even though its still brewed by the macro??

The bottomline is that there's LOTS of beer choices out there, and that's a GREAT thing IMHO!

I enjoy PBR whilst in VT. Mr. Pabst founded Bromley. There's a plaque in the main base lodge.

Molson Golden - $10.99 a case was my college apartment's goto beer  We just couldn't bring ourselves to go for the $9.99 a case Natty light :puke: So we made the conscious decision to forgo a few extra boxes of Ramen noodles each week to maintain our "high" standards!

I've actually switched BACK to shitty cheap light beer in the last few years. Sure I'll drink a micro or two when out at a bar occasionly but honest to god more than two and I'm bloated. Plus I'm all set with nine dollar six packs, I drink way too much to pay that kind of money!

Molson Export (6%, I think) was the total go-to when it was on special. For a while we re able to get Polar Beer, which had a bottle opener molded into the bottom of the bottle, so you used your empty to open a freshy. Brillant, that.

That is a brilliant idea. Although if you just had 1, and didn't have a bottle opener, the mental torture that could be inflicted..... ;)

I can honestly say that I drink none of those listed regularly...

...anymore. College wasn't all to long ago, but I couldn't tell you the last time I bought more than 1 of those at a time. More often that not I buy the Costco Kirkland Signature brand 24pack of craft beer. If they don't have it, Magic Hat or Harpoon varieties are the alternative.
