A $1.1M ski vacation

Unfortunately some of the article is behind a paywall. But it still begs the question, what defines an excessive ski vacation? I wonder if people who pay $1M to stay in a lodge decorated by Old Master paintings still have the wherewithall to get up at the dawn's first light to secure first tracks?

If I was a billionaire - I'd be taking million dollar vacations constantly...
But I'm not... So I do what i can.. I still try to go as big as possible...

Honestly, that room in the picture looks pretty bad to me for a ski trip. Hard floor is not at all cozy, and the only furniture is weird chaise lounges way apart from each other seems anti-social.

Part of this is the cost of living in Switzerland. Its sky high, so it inflates the total. This is probably a 5-700k vacation here in the states, and in my days as a hotel accountant, that number is approached pretty often at the high end places in Jackson, Aspen, etc during the holidays. Our most expensive room (slept only 2 people!) was almost 30k per night.

The picture is actually of the pool room. What looks like a hard tile floor is actually the bottom of the pool....

I agree now, that place rules, next time I have 100k a night I will stay there for sure
