Day #1 for the Cepek 6ply-Mud Countrys on my Xterra . Got out for a few short hikes off of a few of the wood-cutting roads, but for the most part it was a slow tour down from the Katahdin/W.Br.Penobscot area to Moosehead Lake...(via 10-20mi of smaller roads off the main woods roads = more wildlife), then back to Bangor.
Some animals seen, but there's still a good amount of snowcover as you get deeper into the woods. Store clerk @Abol Bridge talked about some "bugs" being out last week(the single very warm day!), but today the temps were in the high 60s to maybe low 70s...and I didn't notice any...:-D
A few pics from today. Grabbed the camera in time to catch a shot of a young bull(moose) that was munching on leaf buds along side the main road near Chesuncook Lake.
