Appparently the US Forest Service was trying to take the existing water rights from ski areas who draw their water from US Forest Service land without any compensation for those rights

While the intent of the regulation that was struck down wasn't aimed just at the ski industry, it would of had a PROFOUND effect on the industry as apparently per the article there are 121 operating ski areas in 13 states whom would of been affected by this.
Scary stuff had this been allowed to stand
