Seems like a midsection would be a lot less work at this point. Can it really be much more expensive? I get the idea if you're starting from scratch, but since 95% of the work is done....

Angle stations are pretty big contraptions.. and it just may not be possible to stick one there.
I imagine its a lot of engineering and if possible it was already looked at.

They were going to go this route initially. The cost of the unit was the problem.

Not to mention you would double the grip cycles which is one of the more expensive maintenance costs to detaches.
