FRANCONIA NOTCH, New Hampshire — On Saturday, March 19, Cannon Mountain Ski Area will host its fifth annual Kristen's Gift Day and raffle in the Peabody Base Lodge to support the fight against cancer at the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth (CHaD).
In addition to donating the 2005/06 adult Season Pass Grand Prize, Cannon Mountain will also donate a portion of the revenue from the first 400 lift tickets sold that day.
Join Cannon volunteers, the NH Radio Network and WZID as we raise money for New Hampshire kids fighting cancer at the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth. Raffle tickets cost one dollar each, and past prizes have included airline tickets, a guitar signed by the Barenaked Ladies, restaurant gift certificates, Red Sox, Monarchs, museum and theatre tickets, CDs, Atomic Skis, Annalee Doll items, a mountain bike, Whimsical Pins, DVDs, EQ wool sweaters and much more.
Kristen's Gift was created in memory of Kristen Xiggoros, a 15-year-old Manchester girl who died in 1997 of a rare form of cancer. Her parents set up the fund to support terminally ill children and their parents who are staying at the hospital. More information on Kristen's Gift is available at www.kristensgift.org. Donations can be made directly to Kristen's Gift, c/o CHaD Community Relations, One Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH 03756.
Cannon Mountain, in rugged Franconia Notch State Park, NH, offers year-round value and fun for the whole family. With nine lifts and 55 winter trails (some offering the most challenging terrain in New Hampshire), as well as the newly developed gentle Brookside area with nine trails for beginning and intermediate skiers/riders, Cannon Mountain is always worth a visit. Known for the pristine beauty of its setting, Cannon Mountain is operated by the Division of Parks and Recreation of New Hampshire's Department of Resources and Economic Development.
