I've been itching to get some good ski
maps on the iphone so I can yuck yuck and plan on the drive up... I brought in some jpg maps, but they are too sucky small - apple limits their size.

I got iTrailmap. Haven't really tested it out for ski season yet. Some maps seem to be high quality, while others are less so ...

I also have Runkeeper (free version) that I've been using for tracking running and biking. It's supposed to work for skiing too and track vert/speed/etc ... only problem is it has to be on all the time and sucks the battery. Wouldn't be good for a day of skiing.

Take a look at iSki Trail Maps - my favorite app so far. I tried a couple of the GPS interactive apps, but they flat out just don't work on the mountain. Here's a link to the one I like: http://www.clearlogic.com/

I have ITrailmap 3D which is not a free app, but its awesome!

Another one that I just downloaded is JH Tapped, which is from Resorts Tapped, LLC

It is a test market for what I assume will be all resorts.
You can access the JH web cams, ski school, guides, trail maps ......you name it!
Check that one out!
Oh, and its FREE!

Second the iTrailMap, it's cool. I paid nothing, but got it like a year ago when they must have been doing a promo for it.

I used iTrailMap 3d last winter and it's great. I think I paid $3 for it.

I have the REI snow report AP, which is okay and the NorthFace AP, which is very nice, gives a lot of details about weather, conditions..etc, etc. Also have the iTrailmap application, which is very cool, though I don't see myself pulling out my iPhone at the top of Alta, with a magnifying glass trying to read it...haha.
