I ask because f$%^%*Y&* MBNA is cancelling their program. Any other suggestions? I got points for every dollar and they would send me a free ticket good anywhere in the US.

First they up their rates for everyone and then they end this program. They're trying to convince me that I want gift certificates to the Pottery Barn or Chili's. Yippee.

ski credit card

American Ski has a card. I got it through FIrst USA which has been purchased several times and is now CHASE. You get $10 coupon for every $1000 you spend. If you use it in an ASC resort you get $50/$1000. The coupon are only good at ASC resorts of course.

i got the ASC Visa card.

if you use it at the resort and the shops and restaurants connected to the resort, you get back double points. so i usually use it for a big ticket item like booking a lodging and lift package.

with regards to purchases at the shop, the coupons are only good for up to 20% off purchases over $100.

I usually use these to pay for the overpriced food at the lodges but you can use them to buy lift tickets, rentals and lessons too. i think you could usue these to buy a season pass.

At first I got telemarketing calls. You know, they call when you're not home, get your machine, stammer a couple works, then hang up, never saying who they are or who they're with. I'd get these messages every day for over a month. Always an Arabic man. My mom was over once and took their call. He wouldn't say who he was with, just that he'd call back. The guy finally got me at home and I let him have it. I brought up the time that he called my mom and wouldn't say who he was with (he was the same Arabic man). I assured him I wouldn't be interested in anything he had to say and he was wasting his time. He stood his ground and continued to offer his services in an obstinate manner. Turns out he was from MBNA. I got his name. I was so upset that I called MBNA back and complained about him. They took me off of their marketing list and I've been fine with MBNA ever since.

My wife and I have had the ASC Edge Visa since '97, and use it to really knock down the price of our season passes. Over the course of a year, we'll typically accumulate $400-$500 in reward vouchers and then apply them all to our passes/childcare passes for our kids. With respect to passes there isn't a limit as to how many vouchers you can use, whereas for equipment purchses as was mentioned before you can use them only upto 20% of the purchase price. The other thing I like about it is that when you hand it to comeone at the cash register, with the action image of the skiers on the card, there is no doubt that you're addicted to skiing!
