Got a call from a friend who was up there at 8:45. T2 is still good, getting kind of thin lower down though.

How about a PM TR: Snow was soft and carvable, skiied till noon, got 18 runs in, over 11,000 vertical feet according to my Avocet watch. From the midstation to the top is 575'. Few pics from today.

Awesome! I should've made the trip up instead of sitting on my butt all day at home.

The ski out from the midstation had a couple of spots where the ribbon ran out and you had to walk across a bare spot. The last couple hundred yards to the lift was dirt. Way less walking than I did on Killington closing day when I finished with Downdraft Headwall to East Fall.

Next weekend will be tough..... Warm temps this week, w/ almost no SM windows, except for a slight one Tues and Weds night....

Can't complain though. Any turns in Oct. are a good thing !

The pumpkin head festival has some packages offered with free skiing. I really hope they can get open and have a positive weekend. I will make the Np dinner Sat and catch the Rustic overtones on Sat at the Phoenix. We need a local to tell us if they made snow last night,

ow ya 2planker. I took advantage 4 times so far. Can't beat that as a pass holder.

Yes we do. It was technically cold enough. I would think that they would scrap Sunday Punch until next month and just focus on T2.

Russ posted it was really not cold enough to make snow. That leaves pushing it around. My gut feeling is there will be something Sat and Sunday and then the cold comes and we are set for a good long run. 7 days a week opening by early November.

It was 28 degrees at my house in New Gloucester this morning, so I would certainly think that 55 miles north and 2000 feet up it was cold enough to make snow. Of course, there could have been an inversion, or more clouds up north keeping the temperatures up. Regardless, I agree about focusing on T2 and would most certainly be greatful and excited to have any skiing this weekend!

I agree that it was cold enough last night, but I haven't heard a thing about any snow being made, nor have I asked anyone at the mountain, but tonight should get down there again and depending on when that is, I could see a short window to build a couple of what to push around.

At present, T2 is essentially a WROD after this past weekend, but that better than a ROD...

Last year there was free skiing on Halloween if you wore a costume. Anyone heard whether they are doing that again this year? I can't find it anywhere on the SR web site.

They don't yet know if they'll be open. I would note that the free skiing on Halloween's in the past has been at least partly because Halloween was the first full day of operation. They've already operated five full days this year.

While it's always a nice promotion, I would think that if they are open and are not able to make snow this week, the free skiing could cause an issue with the amount of snow. Just my thoughts!
