Well considering I didn't hear gripes about false marketing with their largest lift served glade in the east, which is what 75 acres? Thus wouldn't the initial 150 acre glade at Sugarloaf be the biggest in the east? Plus by 2012 it will be 450 acres if reports are true.

The Bush added some new glade areas to the trail map this year I think it was 40 acres. but I never saw them market it as the largest lift served glade in the east. Lots of other lift served glades not on the map.

Slidebrook is lift served from both LP and Mt Ellen, LP is the more popular entrance. The skiable terrain is over 1000 acres and 2000 vert ft.

If Sugarbush cut one large glade of 150 acres that you could get to from the lifts and ski back to the lifts, don't you think they'd market it? Perhaps they didn't or couldn't for that matter market it as the largest glade in the east last summer as you had two larger projects happening at both Saddleback and Whiteface. Sugarbush did market that that they'd have new glades this season though no?

I'm sure Sugarloaf has plenty of off the map stuff just like Sugarbush and many other mountains do.

Again Slidebrook is more back country than glade. It's even advertised on the trail map as guided backcountry tours. It's not regularly patrolled like Saddleback's Casablanca for example.

I guess I just don't understand why your being over critical of Sugarloaf hyping up (well in this case their skiers, which is all hearsay at this point) what indeed would be at 150 acres, the largest on map, cut and maintained glade in the east. If the rumors are true, this is a great thing for eastern skiing, just like Casablanca was last year, just as Slidebrook is.

DHS is right on, here. Slidebrook is not on map as a trail, not patrolled, and is slackcountry. It is not comparable to Saddleback's new glade nor what the Loaf has been rumored to be working on (pending rumors are correct!). Stowe might as well include everything skier's left of Chin Clip or Jay everything skier's right of Timbuktu, or Smuggs everything off Sterling, etc. etc. etc. in their acres but they are still not on map, not official trails, not patrolled, etc.
