Aria Spa & Club Offers a Variety of Ways to Support National Breast Cancer Awareness

Vail Cascade Resort's Aria to Hold Events Throughout October Benefiting the Shaw Regional Cancer Center

Vail, Colo. - Sept 28, 2011 - Throughout October, visitors to Aria Spa & Club at the Vail Cascade Resort have a variety of ways that they can support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A month-long spa promotion and special yoga sessions will provide members and guests with ways to be serene and strong, building awareness of the prevention of the disease and raising money to be donated locally. Additionally, a new program designed to raise funds for the cause is the "24 Hours of Aria", a fitness challenge utilizing specially designated cardio equipment in an indoor twist on a marathon race for a cure. Another popular event returns, as well: the Aria Tennis Rally for the Cure offers a light-hearted competition with the goal of finding a cure for breast cancer. All donations gathered will be presented to the Shaw Regional Cancer Center.

For the third year, Aria Spa will donate $5 to the Shaw Regional Cancer Center for every massage, facial or body treatment that is booked in October. Additionally, the spa is offering a 40% discount on all massages, facials, and body treatments, and 20% off all nail services. Guests of the spa will receive a great value while supporting the cancer center. Aria's 40% off promotion runs through November 30, and appointments can be made by calling 970-479-5942 .

On Friday, October 7th and Saturday, October 8th, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Aria Club will host a new charity event to raise money to find a cure for breast cancer. The 24 Hours of Aria Challenge encourages participants to get a great cardio workout while supporting the cause, with a suggested donation of $5 for each 1/2 hour time slot; all proceeds will be donated to the Shaw Regional Cancer Center for local breast cancer patient support. Select cardio fitness equipment will be reserved with pink ribbons just for the event. Prizes will be awarded at an after party hosted at Aria at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday to the top three competitors with the most time logged and with the most money donated. The two days of the event are free and open to all, and Vail Cascade Resort will provide free pizza from the resort's new Half Pipe Pizza from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on both days. Time slots can be reserved in person at the club front desk, and more information can be obtained by calling 970-479-7920 .

During the 24 Hours of Aria, the spa will offer a $20 specialty body soak, and 40% off specialty body wraps in addition to the month-long promotions.

The Aria tennis program is also involved in raising breast cancer awareness by holding the annual "Rally for the Cause" on Saturday, October 22nd from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 pm. The tennis rally will kick off the action with a Longest Rally contest. Prizes will be awarded to the two players who obtain the most consecutive hits from the baseline. Following the consecutive hits competition will be a Doubles Round Robin, the winning team for the most total games for the night will take the title and prizes. However, there is a twist: before and during the round robin, teams will be able to purchase a voucher that will allow them such luxuries as a "3rd serve" or a "Pro for the point". Participants can even pay to make their opponent play left-handed for a point. Cost is $25 for members, $30 for non-members. Donations are made via purchasing vouchers for $5 and $10 dollars. The tennis staff aims to offer a fun night with the goal of ending breast cancer forever.

The local beneficiary of all of the charity events is the Shaw Regional Cancer Center, located in Edwards, Colorado. The Shaw Regional Cancer Center provides services including prevention, diagnosis and treatment of most types of cancer and is a program that aims to "provide an innovative, high quality cancer treatment center that focuses on restoring the mind and the body, empowering cancer patients to become cancer survivors," as stated in the center's mission statement.
