Area skied: Attitash / Bear Peak
Date skied: January 14th
Surface conditions: Powder over Packed Powder
Weather: Moderate snow all day!
Skied 9am - 3:30pm
Left Merrimack NH last night (so as not to drive in the snow) and stayed at the Attitash Grand Summit Hotel. Very nice hotel, clean, quiet, nice beds too,
Started off at Attitash and made 2 runs, 1 off the high speed quad, then off the triple to the top. Then we went over and skied Bear Peak for the rest of the morning. Traversed back to Attitash main lodge for lunch, the chile in the bread bowl was awesome! Skied Attitash rest of day.
All runs were mostly the diamonds, double diamonds, and a few blues all were great (hit most of the big trails). This was my 1st time to Attitash and was very impressed with everything about the resort. Loved the leather sofas for lunch with my beer. Will certainally be back here soon!
Drive home was through Crawford and Franconia Notch, then 93 to 3. Roads were in very good shape for the most part. I figured going the longer way would prove for better roads versus back through Conway, and Merideth.
This years tally:
1. Crotched (to test new equipment)
2. Smuggs
3. Jay
4. MRG
5. Attitash
6. Next weekend (Cannon/Brenton Wood)
7. Feb 25th week (Stowe/Jay 5 days)
