Burleigh Sunflower, Marketing Coordinator at Bromley, has agreed to participate in the 2011 AlpineZone Ski Area Challenge!

The AlpineZone Challenge is your chance to offer up questions, suggestions or praise to the people who run the mountains in the northeast. For more information on the challenge itself, please see the stickied post at the top of the forum.

We will pick ten of the questions asked here and submit them for review and response, and post them in the Challenge area when complete!

Caveats: we may edit/change your question for grammar, tone, or something similar. Questions may be merged. If we don't get to all the questions, we will encourage followup from the representatives, but no promises.

Please be respectful as well to those answering questions - please refrain from asking specifics about skier visit numbers, financials, demographic information, etc. as these may be confidential to the mountain.

Bromley Profile

I believe this is Bromley's first time in the Challenge, so ask away!

Is there any plans on opening up any more glade ski maybe over by Havoc.
Edit - oops just read what's new for 2011/2012 and you already have. It just doesn't appear on the trail map yet.

Having been taken over by Jiminy Peak I believe your first order of business is to overhaul your kid's learning program and model it after Jiminy Peak's. What comes next? Any thoughts to taking over the Sun lodge to provide Slope side accommodations?

Does Bromley own any remaining land on the mountain that could be developed for ski terrain outside of it's current boundaries?

Has Bromley considered offering reciprocal season pass programs to be more competitive with other New England areas that offer multi-mountain passes.

Any plans to alter improve the parking layout. The road really takes up a lot of base area space. Standing on the back of a truck is not for everyone.

I skied Bromley today, and while there was only 1 trail open, it was very good. Woods to woods coverage that was great snow, not ice, and top to bottom.. The fact that there were maybe 30-40 people on the mtn made it empty for me!

I would echo the question abt Liftopia deals. I'd love to try Bromley out having never skied there but there are no partnerships with any of the ski discount cards (rsne, mountain sports club, etc.)
I never see you involved with Warren Miller movies or Liftopia either.
Given nearly every mtn is now going this route in some capacity I do find it a bit odd that Bromley's deals are restricted only to their website.
Even the Go Play Mtn sports brochure I picked up had Bromley in there but was only advertising a deal that is available walk up ticket window pricing (the $5 tuesday lunch credit)

Maybe the business model is strong enough that you don't need to attract day trippers or those making plans at the last minute but just curious.

Is Burleigh Sunflower really your name?

Burleigh Sunflower is his real name and he's now the director of the ski/snowboarding school. I'd tell you he's an awesome dude, but if he reads this he'll think I'm sucking up and, at 72 I don't suck up to nobody.
