I saw a horrible photo of a destroyed lodge. What was damaged during Irene and how will these repairs effect changes and improvements to the area?

I think you should change the Caveats to:
Caveats: Highway Star may edit/change your question for grammar, tone, or something similar. Questions may be merged. If we don't get to all the questions, we will encourage followup from the representatives, but no promises.

any plans to expand on the seeded mogul trails to some steeper terrain? top to bottom OL skiers left would be ideal and leave the rest of OL natural.
also, there are alot of low branches that need to be cut in the tree runs (julio and anarchy ect..) and some areas that could use some thinning. what are the tree skiing plans?

After the extensive damage to the resort itself, the sewage piping from Killington to Rutland, and the damage to many of the roads and bridges that allow access to the resort what is the planned opening day?

What are the long term plans for the unused lift towers on Devil's Fiddle and Sunrise? I assume the Sunrise towers will be left to rest due to cost of removal but I would think the Devil's Fiddle Quad towers will be used again or sold? Any insight to either would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Yeah, I used to ski Killington 20 - 30x per year and I remember Devil's Fiddle was never open. So frustrating, I always wanted to hit that drop off on the right hand side.

Hi Chris,

I'm wondering if we can expect the express card to continue as a ticket option? I think that is a great product for a skier that likes to get several days in, but cannot quite justify a season pass. Also, is there any chance of going back to the way it was for the first copule of years where your Killington express card "worked" at Pico? That was a nice benefit as well for days when someone wanted to "mix it up" and head over to Pico.

Thanks,

Hi Chris and Sarah,

Last time you took the challenge, you indicated that the ski village was an integral part of the future of Killington. Several questions:

1. Do you still feel the same way? If answer is no, forget about other questions. If yes, continue to next question!
2. Why do you feel the village is important to the future of Killington?
3. There has been absolutely no news regarding the village during the last year. Is this still on track or has it been paralyzed because of the economy?
4. When can we expect to see the beginning of something resembling a village?

Thanks!

Hi Chris and Sarah,

Last time you took the challenge, I indicated that the Interconnect was an integral part of the future of Killington. Several questions:

1. Do you feel the same way? Answering no is not an option. If yes, continue to next question!
2. Why do you feel the Interconnect is important to the future of Killington?
3. There has been absolutely no news regarding the Interconnect during the last year. Is this still going to happen, eventually, or is it purely imaginary?
4. When can we expect to see the beginning of something resembling an Interconnect?

Thanks!

Is Killington going to try to operate into May this year? Unlike the last two seasons, the season pass sale announcement said nothing about "early November to early May" this year.

Several questions:
1. The sudden removal of the South Ridge Triple means that under the current trail configuration, there is effectively only one way out of Bear, the Skye Peak Express. On busy weekends, the mid-day wait is already substantial. This will make it worse, especially during the Dew Tour. Are you considering any changes that will mitigate this issue?

2. Congratulations on the success of the peak walkway, it allowed Killington to get open far earlier than would have been otherwise feasible. Do you anticipate changes in the opening plan after the North Ridge Triple? For example, blowing Lower East Fall and getting the Canyon Quad into the mix, or will the focus remain on getting Snowdon open?

3. Are we going to see any temporary facilities at the peak this season? Either food or porta-potti options?

4. Can you shed some light on the current thinking regarding the future of KBL? Is the intention to rebuild Superstar Pub, redo the entire base lodge, or review the entire orientation of that area of the facility, or to just stand pat with the remaining structure?

1) Is there any chance that we will ever see some of the old mogul runs restored to their previous glory of being left to mogul up?

2) How does management adress the fact that both the peak lodge and srt were removed in a year when season passes saw a significant bump in price, in effect giving less for a higher cost?

3) How does Killington plan to address the growing discontent amongst its regular skiers in response to their decision making?

Other ticket Options should be considered:
I have skied K since the mid 70s and am on my 3rd vacation home in the area. Like many, I am upset with the season pass price increases, when compared to Okemo & Stratton. In this bad economy when I have to travel 5 hours, the increase in gas prices and now lift tickets will force many to spend less at the lodge and in the region in general.
1.) The Pico Season pass should allow skiers to ski at K the days Pico is closed at a reduced rate.
2.) Midweek pass holders at either resort should be able to ski weekends at a reduced rate.
Maybe include an Express card with the purchase would be a reasonable accommodation.
Maybe Sundays or 1/2 days Sundays could be added to the Pcio Midweek for the week days that it doesn't operate.
3.) Debit card type system, for those people that can't commit to a season pass, a DTL card which would debit the ticket price and reduce the price with each day skied, so that they would never exceed the season pass price, but the reduction in daily ticket price would provide incentive to get more days in.
Please substitute the word ride for ski if you are a snowboarder :-D

A question for Marketing:

KillingtonZone.com is among the most mentioned sources of information about Killington whenever the resort surveys its customers. Unfortunately, the resort stopped participating in the forum several years ago due to the harsh criticism it received in response to operating and other decisions made in the early days of Powdr ownership. Will Killington return to participating in the forum now that many of the initial decisions have been reversed and/or modified and criticism has been very much toned down? (You may consider this an invitation.)
