We limited our day to Bear Mountain & Needles Eye area today, which turned out to be a wise choice based on the good quality of the snow after 10:00. We ventured over to Bittersweet before lunch and found it was Boiler Plate.
Portions of the Outer Limits trail on Bear Mountain was completing the Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge this morning, which had some great skiing. Bear Claw, Wildfire, Viper Pit and the run under the Skye Peak chair offered excellent snow with soft bumps. The Needles eye area was much of the same.
Expert Trail of Choice was the barely opened Needles Eye trail including thin cover, rock-mud patch(es), single ski tracks between the rocks and just wonderful sunshine. Most fun run was Cruise Control down to the Needles Eye Chair.
This was the last day open for the Needles Eye area. Bear Mountain will remain open until next Sunday for a Snow Board Competition.
