My seven year old daughter had an AWESOME winter/spring skiing with her Dad this year and progressed nicely.

I hate thinking that she will not be on skis again until Nov/Dec and was wondering if anyone knew of any good kids' instructional videos she could watch this off season? She has a typical seven year old attention span but is there anything that is kid oriented that may give her some pointers to work on this off season? She's just beginning to parallel in earnest.

Thanks,

Marc

 Saw this and thought it was my thread...I had to instruct our Girl Scouts on skiing, so I had a similar dillemma. Went to the local library and signed out the following videos:

Rand McNally's "Ski New England" With Bob Beattie: Great video of some of NE's mountains...circa 1985 :D ...featuring Sugarloaf, Saddleback (yes, ME's Saddleback  ), Stowe, Waterville Valley, Mt Snow, and Killingto. Good tips for skiers and great footage of WHAT the places used to look like

Learn to Ski With Gordy Skoog (or something like that): Maybe he was a great skier at one point, but this 1977 video was HILLARIOUS because of his wishy-washy advice, stutter, and the great clothing he showed off ("or maybe you could try something more stylish like this sweater (holds up V-Neck in ugly color)")

Sports Illustrated's Teaching Kids How to Ski: Breakthrough Basics: I can't remember who the guy was, but great advice for kids on LONG SKIS in the late 1980's and early 1990's. The kids were in FLUORESCENT colors, with bad hair, and poor technique by today's standards...

Learn to Ski With Tommy Moe and Picabo Street: Hosted by Holly Flanders: Better...mid 1990's...but still real obsolete.

My point? Lot of videos...research them carefully paying attention to copyright dates...many are real dated. Fun for a rainy afternoon to watch and laugh

I hear ya. The guy that stutters should be a classic though. If I find anything updated I will post.
