I love glade skiing, and the Northeast has some awesome glades. Most of the glades on this list are at Bretton Woods, that's where I did the most glade skiing. I want to go to Jay Peak bad, heard that has amazing glades.

MINAHAN'S RIDGE, BRETTON WOODS (Totally beautiful gladed trail on a mellow ridge)
JOHN GRAVE'S GLADES, BRETTON WOODS (Not too steep, not too flat, very scenic and lots of fun)
CLIFF'S CLIFF, BRETTON WOODS (I love the cliff in the middle, but I never jump off)
SUMMIT GLADES, SUNAPEE (Sunapee doesn't have nearly as many glades as Bretton Woods, but this is better than a lot of the glades at Bretton Woods)
FOREST BUMP, OKEMO (Hit this on a powder day, awesome! The powder was knee deep and I was scared my skis would hit a root or something. But I was the only one on the trail and it was one of the BEST runs of my life)

The worst glade i've ever done has to be Loose Spruce at Okemo. It was very crowded. As you may know, gladed+crowded=one of the worst combinations ever. Don't do this glade when it's crowded.

I love crowded glades. That way you get radically huge bumps. The bigger the bumps the better.

A few of my favorites at Jay are North Glade, Kitz Woods, and Moon Walk Woods. Moon Walk is a "greenie", but I like it. If your high speed quads are working, then that peak across from the dip is never crowded.

Beaver Pond Glade=worst run out in the history of skiing.
Ayup. I so rarely ski anything that dumps into Kokomo just because of that run out which is a shame because there are some good shots over on that side of the mountain. Jay has run outs in every direction, but at least on the other side of the mountain, you can pretty much ski trees right back to the lift from start to finish of the run.

The very best glades will of course go un-named in this thread but on map, Kinsman at Cannon is very good when there is enough snow for it. Pretty much every on map glade at Burke should be in this thread. For Jay, I ski the mapped glades so rarely it is hard to say. Expo has nice lines and good conditions most days and Buckaroo often gets overlooked. Vertigo or Deliverance right after a dump are both great but go downhill quick. On map glades are usually first or second run only for me at Jay.

Dark Wizard at Saddleback is the hardest on map glade I have skied. Which does not mean it is the best, but on that consideration, it wouldn't hurt to added it.

The more I think about it... the more I realize just how much most on map glades suck  All the best trees that come right to mind I wouldn't name in a public forum.

Here's an unmapped tree run. Upper Cannonball on Spruce at Stowe. It is a steep stream bed with couch sized boulders. After a big dump it was one of 2 legit. pillow lines I have ever skiied. Only about 20-30 seconds long. Got clear cut when they "improved" mainstreet. You had to go into the woods off the jug handle on Main Street uphill, so it didn't get hit much.

The woods at Stowe are terrible and real dangerous. Boulders, trees, streambeds, treeholes and steep; a perfect formula for disaster. I wouldn't even think of trying them.

:spin:

LMBFAO..Sugarbush has Murphys Glades..they are great but mandatory GS turns are required..
