You forgot the oldest continuously running fair in the country, the Three County fair in Northampton, Mass. First held in 1818, this summer was their 207th consecutive year, kept going through two pandemics, two World Wars and the Civil War.

People in NH would buy squash at Market Basket and enter it at Hopkinton and reap the rewards.

Seen some good music at the Big E for free. I've seen J Geils at the Champlain Valley Expo and Quiet Riot at the Woodstock Fair in CT.
If you want to draw me into your fair, book some good bands and have a nice beer selection. Even with all its warts, the Big E checks both those boxes.
