so i was looking at this beast of a rail that the ski area we shall not mention has in their terrain park. this thing has got to be 12-15 feet tall at its apex. Anyone here ever ridden something like that? All i could think is that if you were grinding it and fell of the top of it, you might actually die. if i ever see someone hit it, i need to take a pic.

Not long after you left last night a snowboarder hit it. He hit the launch and basically just skimmed right over it effortlessly.

Did see someone hit it at the place you were at yesterday and they aborted the rail half way thru only to land on some firm ice and wipeout, they would of probably been better off riding the rail to the end. I have definately seen some ballsy rats in that park.

Are you talking the type of rail that has a little width to it with the plastic surface, or a single metal tube?

I'm one of those gapers who just goes straight across the park features (the plastic surfaced ones) at like 2 mph. If I attempt to go sideways, it's all over. I won't even go near the metal ones. Metal on metal =

same here and I'm even more gaperish in that I have size requirements to. I will do a box, but it needs to be at least 12 inches wide, no more than 2 feet off the ground and no air required to get on the thing where I can just mosey up at 2mph and ride over it.

I tried side was once and saw my season flash before my eyes just barely missing a rib crunch on the thing. I don't think I would ever get used to how far forward you have to lean going sideways metal on metal.
