If we don’t get 2 65 to 70 degree days in a row black could maybe make may 3rd. If we do, not a chance with that southern exposure. It’s been a cold dreary spring in the MWV, so nothing against black. But I would rather have some warm sun before May.

My goggle tan game this year is pathetic due to this dreary weather of the last month or so. Plenty of days on the hill, just way more where I needed my "Ski-gee" goggle wiper than sunscreen unfortunately.... :(

CANNOT have nice things these days.

What a shame, 39 years old ! I was at Black on Friday, by the late afternoon that section of trail was bumped up pretty good.

just goes to show you things can go bad pretty quickly, he was a local and expert skier.

very sad for his family !

Shame about that fatality at Black NH. Sounded like a real good guy and a fantastic skier. I chuckled over the anecdote about him doing a big huck/trick off Lover's Leap at Vail. Lover's Leap features a big cornice at the top and is in the Blue Sky Basin section of the resort. There is a big boulder field at the base that is not obvious in the photo below. Not a place where you want to ski out of control. Here's photo of it I took several years ago:
