Which is strange considering how little terrain Attitash has open. They were making snow on Illusion in late November it's still not open.

Went to both on Sunday and Attitash was close to 50% open while Wildcat only 20%. Both were icy AF. Wildcat was a ghost town and Attitash was quite crowded, but the Abenaki Quad was ski on and the ungroomed trails below the midstation had the softest snow and I literally did not see a single other person. Jealous of the people who can afford the $2m mansions with the massive outdoor fireplaces tucked away by the base of the Abenaki Quad.

A few photos from Attitash:

Looks like the double’s drive motor was replaced already and is back in operation.

I drove by after Wildcat called it around noon (crazy wind up there today) and was suprised to see the double loading. That's amazing. Hopefully the Snowcat has that magic applied for the coming weekend... not holding my breath though...

Other notes from today’s GM Letter:
the J-Bar opening Saturday, all “advertised” snowmaking trails open by Saturday, rebuilding the Jackson Standard glacier with a goal for June skiing, and bonus snowmaking on non-snowmaking equipped trails Upper Galloping Goose and Roller Coaster.

Also worth noting season pass sales stop a Monday. With a cap and potential waitlist for next year’s passes.

June skiing? I love what they are doing, but is this a reasonable expectation?

Yeah, “attracting customers“ doesn’t appear to be the objective.
Yeah, agreed. I can see why Vail might run Wildcat on a shoestring, but Attitash WAS a relatively successful resort not too long ago. I just think letting it whither away is a real waste and makes no business sense at all.
