This weekend is an ASC ALL4ONE blackout for bronze and silver, and I will NOT pay to go to Killington or Mount Snow. Trying to assess the alternatives in Southern Vermont, or New York, but don't want to go to a mountain that will be croweded. Figure Okemo will be mad crowded. So that leaves Stratton, Gore, Jiminy, Hunter and the other 'Skills hills.

Will all the hills be crowded this weekend?

IF I go up this weekend, it will be to Sugarbush. If for nothing else, I like to get up there at least once a year. It may be crowded, but not as bad as Killington or Snow.

For lack of crowds try Magic

Wouldn't that suck right about now for lack of snow ? There's also the lack of lifts...acceptable on a 5 foot powder day...not acceptable on runs of rocks..

I think the blackouts keep the crowds down at Killington. That's the way it was during the blackout days during Christmas week so I am hoping it will be the same this holiday weekend.

This weekend = mob scene

Holiday weekend + start of many school vacation weeks + first metropolitan snowfall of the season + a seriously snow deprived general population = biggest day of the year for many places

Saturday will be a zoo, and as wierd as it sounds, the Daytona 500 car NASCAR race might actually help keep some of the once or twice a year drive up day tripper business away on Sunday - similar to the Superbowl Sunday crowd factor

go support a smaller privately owned ski area (burke, magic saddleback) next week. That's where the best snow will be anyway.
