Resort or Ski Area: Blue Mountain
Conditions: Surburb. 2" fresh Pocono Pow, Bluebird day
Trip Report: Blue was awesome today. Mrs Root, our nephew, her brother and his girlfriend all came out for some New Years Day turns. Booted up in the top lodge and took my first turns of the year down Burma. Very nice. No crowds until after the hangover crowds showed up after 11. Mrs Root did ok, but her hip was feeling some discomfort after the 3rd of 4th run so she took a rest for a bit.
Razor's opened today but I didn't ski it. One hour after they opened it (right after I saw AtomicSkier and GSS leaving) they had to shut it down for a "mid-day" grooming around 11am. It still looked like death cookies right afterward anyway. Skied my 1st run down Switchback today.
I'm really liking the Jet Fuels. I'm still amazed how they blow right through piles of crud like it isn't even there. Is there something wrong with me that I'm actually aiming towards the crud???
Short TR tonight. I need to pack.
