Had some family business in Burlington Friday morning so we decided to make our first ever vist to Bolten Valley in the afternoon before heading over to Maine.

We pulled into the empty lot around 1 and grabbed a bite to eat before heading out. The base lodge was retro, so much so that the computers at the food counter and behind the ticket window looked out of place. Got to use my buy 1 get 1 free pass for getting 3 fill ups via the http://www.skiridefree.com/ promotion.

Put in a couple of hours. blue bird skies and a bit of a chill but a nice day on the mountain.

They got 3 inches or so of fresh snow over night and there was still plenty untracked in the late afternoon

We mixed it up between groomers and some woods.

Vista Glades were fun

i imagine being in the same neighborhood of some big ski areas make drawing crowds a challenge for BV but it is a great place. If back in that area i'd definitely stop back for more skiing.

I'm thinking about hitting up Bolton Valley. How were the conditions out there? Whats your impressions of the mountain good range of beginner to expert terrain?

conditions were very good on Friday. no sign of thinning coverage anywhere. We were in and out of the woods and there was plenty of natural snow.

The Wilderness Peak area was closed so i don't know what type of terrain is over there. My impression of the mountain was there is plenty for beginner thru advanced intermediate. if you are into woods you will probably like this place.

i didn't come across any super difficult terrain but i wasn't really looking for it either.

While Bolton lacks the steeps and vert of it's neighbors, it makes up for it in getting as much snow with a fraction of the crowds at a far cheaper price. We skied Sunday, I got 22 dollar tickets on Liftopia and they had 3 inches of snow on Saturday.
We skied mostly over on Timberline, the top of Vista was a bit windy. My younger son loved Doug's Woods, lots of other young kids and families skiing the woods. My older son and I enjoyed the top of Adam's Solitude.
Like you said plenty of coverage and a shame next weekend is their last weekend.
