I'll be there...couple deals worth going for, including the Wildcard and the Ski and Ride card. Overall, eh, unless you're into booking ski and stay packages (I'm not). A bit harder to find daily deals, but they're there if you look.

I'll be there tonight, getting the stoke meter higher before heading up to Bethel tomorrow.

Will try to make it Sunday. Got to pack my gear tonight to ski Friday and Saturday. There was a thread about this already on AZ somwewhere about a month ago. I described how to get free parking..................................

For us cheap bastards that want to avoid the $10.00-$12.00 parking fee - follow show directions from Route 93, go right past state police barracks and entrance to Bayside Expo Center on Day Boulevard. Dorchester Bay will be on your right, Columbus Park on your left. Pull into the public parking lot on the beach (right) which is 100 yards right after Expo entrance. There is some sort of city building there. If the lot is full there is another lot on the other side of the building. It's a short five minute walk over to Bayside Expo. I'm usually a Friday night attendee and get there about 4:00. Never had a problem finding a spot, although I have seen others doing this exact same thing. Check it out on Google Earth, good view of lot!
Good stoke. Ski Market has a great sale there. Other booths can get you good deals on glasses, gloves, socks, etc..........
Some ticket deals can be found, mostly two for ones and stuff like that at lesser known hills. Sometimes it just takes a little "smoozing" to show you have interest, or they might not even talk to you. I wear my ski club pin with my name on it and that seems to help. Guess they figure I'll spread the word to other members.
Have fun!
Think snow!

I was thinking about going on friday evening. Is this a good place for a chance at getting some discounted/free lift tickets?

Isn't this like revealing a powder stash online? As a former Southie resident who's been using this for years, I take some umbrage.

Your heart's in the right place, Reefer. You can't be that bad if you come from Marlborough. I spent a lot of time in my high school days in the 60s cruising up and down Main St. Remember Bibby's Pool Room? Shot many racks in there.

Just moved here last year. Been around to a few fine establishments, haven't heard of Bibby's.

Just got back. Is it just me or does the representation get smaller every year? At least I got a good deal on some new skis. Surprisingly large amount of people even despite the weak economy. Not as many free giveaways as in years past, from what I saw anyways.

I definitely agree there wasn't nearly as many giveaways. Usually virtually every mountain has chapstick (this year the only chapstick I found was at the Boston Globe booth), pins (only ones I saw were for Blue Hills), magnets (only ones I saw were a couple of the tour companies - none of the mountains) posters (didn't see any except maybe some small ones), pens (very few), etc. Mostly this year all there was was stickers.

On the other hand, we did come away with quite a few free lift tickets. Won lift tickets to Cranmore, Pat's Peak, Bromley, Nashoba, and King Pine. Also picked up an RSNE card at a good value (though I am quite pissed off at them because they wouldn't give us Wildcat tickets because they only had a limited number so they only were giving them away if you bought four cards, not if you bought two, which is bull since we paid the same price as everyone else for the cards we bought and it ought to be first come first serve).

But overall we had a hell of a lot of fun, got some good stuff and came away with quite a lot of value worth of lift tickets again this year. Be persistent and you'll do well.

Much fewer exhibitors there for sure. Lots of people though, place was packed.

I went in knowing I wanted to get my VT travel club card (which came with a Stowe 2 for 1) and the Wildcard, which comes with an extra day at the show. The Wildcat folks were actually giddy about how many of them they were selling. Didn't win much except a Cannon T-shirt. Struck out on any other free tix.

Good to see the Meatheads there.
