Any of you ever lived there? How is it? I'm big into outdoor sports and figure I would love Boulder. How is the weather? (ie. does it get unbearably cold for much of Dec, Jan, Feb, March?
Any info would be appreciated.
Thx

to your wide-open question, Boulder makes a good base camp if you like the mountains. Rocky Mountain NP, Indian Peaks Wilderness, the Continental Divide Trail, and several excellent ski areas are all less than an hour away. Boulder itself has some fabulous outdoor spaces too....the Flat Irons, Roosevelt NF.. to mention just a few. Weather wiise, the snows have moderated a lot in the last 20 years, but temps remain typical of the high elevation. It's crowded though, and it's only 15 miles north of Denver, which is a snarled mess. Less crowded and equally appealing are Fort Collins and Colorado Springs. Caleb

Boulder is very unique place. It's a busy outdoor orientated college about 30 mins from Denver. It has 100,000 plus but has alot of culture and funkiness. I have always considered Boulder to be a combo of San Francisco and New York. more than the real west.

Housing is hard to come by and very expensive. The weather is moderate in the winter as one day you can get a snow storm, the next day it's in the 50's.

It's a happening place with the US National Bureau of Standards, National Atmospeheric Center, Celestial Seasonings Co, Mustards Last Stand, CU(U. of Colorado) and the Mall made famous by Mork.

I first hung out there in 1967 and when I lived in Wyoming(23 years) I went there often.
