I've seen these places referenced on AZ but search is doing me no favors. Anyone been? Considering a quick trip to the area using the Indy. Any info is appreciated.

Yes, been to Tamarack twice and Brundage 3 times, quite fond of both, zero crowds. Was at Brundage just last year, the new HSQ is very nice. Previous time there we wee able to rent a very nice house in McCall that was very inexpensive. I like Brundage better than Tamarack, but I've only been to Tamarack before and after the first Wildwood chair, so I need to get back. Bogus is also very nice if you feel like splurging, one of my favorites!

Yeah, two friends rented a nice 5 bedroom house in the area for like $300/night, I think; they're just hoping a few of us join. Skied around Kellog in ID last year and we got off cheap in every way.

They’re great mountains, been getting some good snow there this year as well. Brundage is higher elevation than Tamarack so the snow tends to be better. Hidden Valley is a great area at Brundage and Tamarack has some really nice runs off the summit lift. Also the views at both are beautiful. Especially Lakeview area at Brundage. If you stay in McCall its under an hour to both resorts (with Brundage being the closer of the two). I’ve been 6 days to each. I prefer the groomers at Tamarack for the vert and variety but Brundage has better trees and snow quality.

I’ve visited both in the summer. McCall is a neat town. Brundage seemed more my speed as a ski area. It reminds me of Grand Targhee in terms of the layout—one big main mountain with some great top to bottom skiing. Tamarack was in the midst of reopening after its foreclosure. Lots of half-built things and dirt roads. But I have seen that they have been on an upswing. Cascade is small compared to McCall. And give the Little Ski Hill some love!

I’ll post some thoughts later but I’m on ski day 3 of this trip and it dumped at Tamarack all day and it was absolutely dead. Wet, sticky snow, we skied until last chair. I’m at the ER in McCall with a friend who had a couple of falls today, think he messed up a rib. This day had it all.

Whoa. Sorry to hear about the ER. How was Brundage?

Excellent hill, we got spring conditions yesterday during the last two hours. We hit Bogus Basin on day 1 which was fantastic, what an impressive mountain, it is massive and fun. We've got one more day each at Brundage and Tamarack, should be great conditions after today.

Awesome. That is a cool part of Idaho. Next time head up to Couer d'Alene and hit Silver Mountain, Schweitzer, and Mount Spokane.
