Don't think it ever ran from the very top, usually started about halfway down the less steep part. Not exactly the longest trail to begin with. Should be a good time. Some friends and I ran an "underground" version of the race for three years, the "Ripcord Cup". Painted up a nice old milk can with the double diamonds and made about 50-60 shirts each year. The ski patrol was actaully very recpetive and helpful. It was during the time the mountain was holding the Glade-iator on Beartrap. Eventually they moved it back to Ripcord so we didn't hold our undergroud version. After a couple years I guess interest faded, and the Glade-iator was no more. I seem to remember the entry fee being pretty high the last year or two. Not sure how much that contributed to it's demise.
