2006 Trip Report #: 51
Resort: Burke Mountain
Conditions: MG/FG. Ice on ungroomed trails.
Weather: Cold, winds out of the NW. Highs in the low 20’s maybe! Sun and clouds.
Trip Report: De ja vu. I skied from 9-1 solo and hit all the groomed runs in quick order. Run of the day was East Bowl...which was groomed and fast. I hit it first thing and loved the sun.
Powderhorn was nice...and I ripped it up. Dipper Doodle was good as well. I found that Willoughby and Lower Bear Den and Fox's got rough. Carriage Road, Dippers, and Meadows skied nicely.
I was able to take some spins on the Poma and found Warren's Way worthy of three runs...the sun was just too nice and that Poma made for some fast runs. I did not attempt to cut across to Willoughby because the cut off trail looked like it was solid ice just above the Ledge's headwall. Ouch.
Since Monday, all the runs have been groomed including Doug's Drop, Lew's Leap, and even Ledges. Wow.
