Can any of you skiers from the NEK explain why Burke is holding their pond skimming on Easter weekend? I usually make it up there for pond skimming weekend but it looks like this year is a no go for me. Any clue why they are having it that weekend?

I have no idea as to why they chose that specific weekend. Remember, however, that they have to hold it on a weekend when they know they'll be open with decent conditions so they don't want to hold it too late in the season. Also remember that the specific date of Easter weekend changes every year.

So they may have had to make a tough call: wait until the next weekend & risk lousy conditions (or even closure) or lose a few attendees because it happens to fall on Easter weekend this year.

That is their second-to-last scheduled weekend...and as said, it is usually that weekend in March. It just happened to be Easter.....
