Man when I got that "attn passholders" email I was really hoping it was gonna say "come ski Burke this winter" but I guess that's premature. I've never skied there.

At the very least I'd expect some discounts for Catamount / B-East Summit (full package) passholders. Either way, seems like a huge positive step forward for all involved. Hopefully they get a great snow year to start things off right.
Locals (Buckland Charlemont Hawley, MA) passholders have heard the rumors for years and knew this was happening. Rumor has it locally now it maybe something like Ikon summit pass includes 5-7 days at Burke before fully intergrading Burke into the Summit pass.

Question: Are the Schaefers now one of the biggest names in North American Skiing? Owners of: Burke, Berkshire East, Catamount, Big Red Cat Tours (BC). Involved in operations: Bousquet, Hermitage, and Middlebury Snow Bowl. Very impressive!

Schaefer family doesn’t have a role in Midd operations. Jon is an alum and at one point was on an advisory board, but I believe that was the extent of their involvement.

Anyone heard anything recently about the long-in-the-works Berkshire East expansion ? Or has that been sidelined to focus on Burke ?

Middlebury? That’s news to me.
