Date Skied: January 25th, 2006
Area Skied: Camelback P.A
Surface Conditions: Packed Powder/Loose Granular/Icy Spots.
After looking at some commercial and residential real estate, my son and I skied at Camelback from 12:30pm - 3:30pm taking in 11 runs.
Camelback recieved about 1-2" of new snow overnight which made for some packed powder turns over a firm groomed base. We started out on the Sullivan Express HSQ and skied Big Pocono Run which was scratchy in spots, but had soft powdery snow on the trail edges.
Sullivan Express:
We skied over to the Stevenson Express HSQ and skied down The Nile Mile which had PP snow and Pocono Raceway which had been skied off on the top part, but was pleasant enough when it merged with The Bactrian.
We skied the Asp Trail which had nice snow:
On the last run of the day, my son skied with his poles for the first time down King Tut:
The weather was a mix of sun and clouds with occasional snow flurries/snow showers and temps around 35F.
