53 degrees at Cback now according to their website, but Lower Cleo is still closed. Guess I am staying home. Must be keeping it closed under the "preserving the base" argument, though I'd be surprised if it got much traffic on a Wednesday.

It'll be open. You could prolly ski it right now and no one would say boo.The Patrol does that kinda shit when no one is there. Why open frozen bumps? It was 22 there this morning. And if it's closed this weekend .....we open it back up....I've got two more punches on my pass to give. LOL

I am going to try ro get back to Camelback on Friday as my mountain Greek Peak in central NY plans on re-opening on Sat.

not to hijack but how's greek skiing - any spring bumps?
i'm always torn this time of year between the mtb and skiing. fun spring bumps are the ultimate persuader. i might be up there sunday but i'd rather be on the bike than a sugary camelback even with an open lower cleopatra - i always thought that was kinda ghey.
does gp have any lift discounts?

Well Greek Peak is not sure yet if they are going to re-open on Sat. Not sure of any discounts. Snow Report # is 1-800-365-SNOW. Last Sunday not many bumps at GP.

Belleayre in the Catskills always has a couple of decent Bump runs.
Belleayre Early/Late-Season rates: $38 midweek and $43 weekends.
Snow condition # 1-800-431-4555.

So, I got in my car yesterday afternoon fully intending to drive to class, but somehow I ended up going the wrong way out of the parking lot and then the wrong way down Route 24, next thing you know I'm on Route 80 crossing the Del Water Gap, and poof, in the parking lot at Camelback! Of course, idiot me, didn't read the closing times correctly and thought the lights would be on until 9. The guy I bought my ticket let me know the lifts would stop spinning at 7, not 9! So I raced to get as much skiing in as I could in a little over 1.5 hrs, and my legs are good and tired today as I got over 20 runs in.

Midweek skiing is awesome. No one was there, even with the $12.40 lift ticket deal. I have to find a way to do more skiing like this. I was disappointed that Lower Cleo wasn't open; and disappointed that Cback requires a "park pass" to go into the parks with them medium/large features (didn't want to waste any time looking into that process last night), so I made the best of it, skiing fast and aggressive in variable snow on my bump skis, which is something I haven't really done before. This mountain needs bumps, though!

Someone from Sundown should write them a letter!!!!!!

From the CB website: Saturday's & Sun. hours are 8:30AM to 7:00PM.

I am planning on hitting CB tomorrow (friday) early. I timed those 2 Express Quads and they both shoot you to the top in only 3 minutes. You certainly get in a lot of runs. Where I usually ski, Greek Peak & Elk Mtn., both have older slow lifts & takes about 9 minutes to get to the top. So even though GP & Elk have about 1,000 ft. vertical feet and Camelback is 800 ft. vertical, the much faster lifts at CB make a big difference.
