Recently, there has been a 3 person "outbreak" of rabies in some chinese city. Chinas solution to this has been to slaughter all dogs in that county. So far 50,000 dogs have been butally beaten with clubs by the red thugs. Most of these dogs were companion animals which were forcefully taken from their owners, and beaten to death before their very eyes. The alternative was for the owners to kill their own pet in exchange for 63 cents. While this is simply Chinas typical blind responce to an easily solved problem, the reds continue on with their brutalities. The very worst fact is that 4,000 of the dogs murdered were already innoculated against the rabies virus, not that they ever proved that the infected people ever got it from dogs (highest occurance is usually bats).

So, what are YOU going to do. You can start by joining the international boycott against anything made in china. Then you can call the Chinese ambassador to america at

202 328 2574 (this is a line directly to the man himself)

and ask him why they are behaving like cavemen, and tell him you will buy nothing made in china until the brutality ends. If you really want to push is as far as I did, you can tell him that you know the real reason they are killing. Why you ask? Because the chinese have small insignificant penis, and dog have huge penis like american penis. That one really pissed him off, maybe if a lot of people tell him that, then perhaps the beatings will stop simply out of embarrassment.

Dude, the Chinese could care less what the hell American's think.

They're behaving like cavemen, because they are- I saw people takin a dump in the gutter on the side of the road while I was there.

You think they give a crap about what the rest of the world thinks? How about all of their totally unscrubbed coal burning plants from which they derive something like 80% of their electricity?

it always amazes me how far a society that gave the world some great philosophical systems including taoism and confucianism along with still often quoted parabales and alagories retains such deplorable human (and apparently animal rights under its strong arm government.

i doubt boycotting anything made in china would really make a difference and it is very likely impossible unless you want to live like a caveman. so many parts and what not are made in china, you would likely have to swear off electricity to have total seperation. in the larger sceme of things, most boycotts generally hurt the citizens instead of the country and piss off national interests. the better solution is more world wide community involvement, but no one wants to piss off china and actually call them out on their human rights issues due to economic involvement. lame.

I'm going to go over to China and start killing the people because they might infect us with the bird flu. I will even give them $5 if they kill themselves instead of having me do it.

My Chinese roomate ate a dog. The dog bit his brother, his brother killed it. Lunch.

Even though I think what they are doing is ridiculous, along with many things about their culture, it's really a different culture that doesn't view dogs as we view them.

And yeah, China has one of the fastest rising (and most promising) economies at the time. They make so much crap our capitalist asses would be left wanting if we were to really boycott Chinese products because they kill dogs.

It's nice to have idealistic dreams that follow our personal morals, but if you really want to try to make a change become a billionaire, ala Bill Gates.

I can accept a cultural difference when it comes to eating animals that I particularly like. But these dogs were mostly peoples pets, and they were not eaten.

The problem with our country is exactly what is here. Boycotts only work if a large number of people participate, but if all of those potential people think that they are to insignificant to make a difference, then no one will boycott. It always takes a few rebels to start a large scale movement. Be that rebel.

Remember WWII (well most of us don't) when people made sacrafices so soldiers could have more supplies (like tin foil turned to bullets). If we can't live without a freaking coffee maker for six months until an american entrepenuer realizes there is demand for american made coffee makers, then it will never happen. Also don't forget, were boycotting china, not japan, korea, taiwan, indonesia etc.

So did anyone call that number yet? The dude is really pissed off, I called him again, and his line gets busyer and busyer by the minute. HSUS, PETA, ASPCA, SPCA, NSAL and a whole slew of animal rights organizations are going nuts over this.

Killing some dogs, while gruesome and unfortunate, can hardly equat to World War II.

And much more is manufactured in China than just coffee makers.

drew, i used to be that idealistic. but i have found that movements aren't as simple to start any more. movements only work with wide spread media attention, and more importantly, media support. movements are no longer generated by the people, they are generated by the media. i can think of several recent movements that the media wasn't behind that didn't have any influence in the end game. but like i said, in reference to boycotts, they only hurt the little people in the end and piss governments off. the thing to do is contact your congress man and ask them what they are doing about china human rights violations and how they are voting on china issues. that generally only works during election time though, and even then, only when you have some media clout.

Dude, I agree with you, but those days are long over. We are a nation of people unwilling to sacrifice creature conforts for the greater good.

Name one monetary sacrifice that people willing make today to support the Iraq war.

Wait a minute- you want me to pay 15% more for my household necessities just because the Chinese are killing dogs? Riiiight....

See, this is what you're up against on a boycott of China. So impossible, it's ridiculous. In fact, I think calling for that makes groups like the ASPCA seem like fringe whackjobs.
